THIS IS NOT THE ORIGINAL RELEASE. This is a source port called Boom that makes the game run faster on slower hardware, namely Chromebooks or computers somehow still running Windows 95. I did everything I could to make it as fast as possible, and unlike most (if not all) other versions of the game on Internet Archive, this actually runs really well on my home computer. I can't say much for Chromebooks as my school has blocked this site so that testing goes to the players. If you know of any other ways to speed the game up, please let me know by sending a review, and I'll make the change as soon as I can. I also don't recommend changing any in-game settings, as I tested them myself.
If you're looking for the IWAD though (the actual game data used for other source ports and the original game), you've come to the right place.

Subject: Great to experience it again after 30 years!
Thanks to the people who made the emulator, the game seemed to run as good in my Firefox browser (using full screen) as it did on my 386 back in 1993. Just had a brief play and it was great to experience it again, brought back the memories of playing it all night without sleeping back then, lol. Amazing to think the game is 30 years old this year!

Doom is generally going to run crap in a browser but with the lowest settings it is totally playable (386DX experience - tiny screen low detail). What I will way is that anyone who did enjoy this should just download DOSBOX to get the proper experience but as an introduction it is brilliant!

Subject: Better Way to Play
(Ignore if you are using Chromebook or particularly low-power computer)
1. Get GZDoom, or other ZDoom fork, which is an open source Doom source-port (https://www.zdoom.org/downloads)
2. Download the zip file found on this page
3. Extract DOOMU.wad from the zip (nothing else is needed)
4. Launch ZDoom fork you downloaded and point it to DOOMU.wad when it asks for a .wad file
This method allows you to play Doom with modern controls and improved graphics. Method also works with Doom 2, which has its own page on archive.org (look instead for DOOM2.wad) or any other game made on the Doom engine, but the .wad files for other may be a little bit harder to find. ZDoom also allows for modding and additional map-packs to be loaded easily.
