I feel that the education provided is a little below average compared to some neighboring public schools, but it is definitely not the worst. Safety wise I believe the school is very safe. However, the district is very prone to bullies and from what I have heard administration does not act effectively about it. Many parents have withdrawn their students from the Berea City School District because of this. While it is not as big of an issue at the high school currently, when the incoming 8th grader and future high school students come in, I believe it will get worse because the current middle school students are out of control. On the bright side I believe that my school does a good job preparing students for college, if the students use their resources to their advantage. I also think that the teachers really care for their students and want to see them succeed.... I attend the one inside of Collinwood High School and in my opinion, I experienced a lot of division. Upon attending my mother and I were told; I would participate in all of the activities Collinwood High School offers. However; homecoming, student events, and even attending school daily we felt separate from Collinwood students. We are usually told last minute about all events; which gives no time for School of One students to prepare to attend. I watch constantly how Collinwood students are treated while going through metal detectors daily and School of One students are treated as if we are there to cause trouble. I would like to see School of One students become more inclusive in the housing school activities and possibly one day have their home building so that all of their students will feel more welcomed....
