Labatt Breweries ofCanadaannounced the launch of a new brand in its Beyond Beer portfolio:SVNS Hard 7UP. This Canadian innovation combines alcohol with the refreshing taste of 7UP – with 0g of sugar and a 7% ABV per can (355 ml) – and is the latest collaboration between two companies.SVNS Hard 7UP PepsiCo Canada entered into an agreement with Labatt to create a new product within the ready-to-drink (RTD) space with the flavour of 7UP crafted to capture the attention and preference of the legal drinking age (LDA) to thirty-four-year-old consumer, and deliver on an existing market gap. This innovation is rooted in the insight that there has been a 104 per cent growth rate in the RTD category inNorth Americaover the past two years and the majority (84 per cent), ofRTD drinkers are looking for brands that don't exist in the beer space.Which traditional soft drink will be next to enter the alcohol category?#7UP #alcohol #RTDs #svnsLars Jensen Paul Villis Carol Dunne Cassandra Rouleau Sam Choucha Chantal Drolet Travis Ralph Sean Durnin Bourcard Nesin Jim Watson Stephen Rannekleiv Sarah Keenaghan Scott Glennon Thomas Kiely

NEW PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: SVNS HARD 7UP Anheuser-Busch InBev and PepsiCo have teamed up to introduce a new alcoholic beverage, Svns Hard 7Up, exclusively in Canada. Labatt Breweries, AB InBev’s Canadian arm, unveiled the 7% alcohol by volume (abv) drink to fill a gap in the market. This move comes amidst a burgeoning ready-to-drink (RTD) sector in North America, which has seen a remarkable 104 percent growth rate over the past two years, with 84 percent of consumers favoring non-beer brands. Svns Hard 7Up will be offered in 355ml single-serving cans, as well as in six and 12-packs. The product range includes an ‘original’ variant available nationwide, a lemonade SKU sold in select markets, and a malt-based version specifically catering to Quebec. With the shift to low-and-no-alcohol beverages, most companies will be seeking to leverage sales with ventures in the RTD category.

2 Australian breweries have recently released Mexican-style beers. Sacrilege or an inspired move?Well, firstly, it's not the first time we've seen this type of NPD, there's also been a few recent Japanese-style beers released by Aussie breweries. We've talked a lot about the growing influence of trends from overseas (no longer solely UK/US) driving innovation/consumer interest in drinks, but for this case let's dive into our data and see why this might be a successful ploy. When Imported beer drinkers were asked what they think makes a good quality imported beer, the top answers were not where it's from or information about the country of origin...instead, flavour and serve consistency were top.Food for thought as we continue to see the growth of these trends and how drinks brands can capitilise on them.James PhillipsSamiksha ChopadeLorraine M.Megan TrestonScott ElliottAmy WarrenRobert Sheldon

Beer is one of the most popular beverages in the world. Here are 5 interesting facts you might not know.1. The Slavic word ‘beer’ came from the verb ‘to drink’.2. The strongest beer in the world has a strength of 67.5%. It was created in 2017 by the Scottish brewery Brewmeister. The beer is called Snake Venom.3. Non-alcoholic beer is made either by eliminating fermentation or by removing the alcohol from the finished beer.4. The largest beer producer in the world is the Belgian corporation Anheuser-Busch InBev. This company owns about 400 beer brands in 50 countries (Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois, Beck's, Hoegaarden and Leffe, among others).5. International Beer Day is celebrated on the first Friday of August.

For those of you who missed the news yesterday, here it is! The boldest move of Duvernois Creative Spirits' history thus far! AB InBev (Labatt Breweries of Canada) chose our brands BOCK/ALE and romeo's gin to complete their portfolio and help their partners build the extremely exciting Non-alcoholic category, both on- and off-premise in Quebec. In 2022, we ventured into this category though both the launch of our romeo’s gin non-alcoholic canned co*cktails line and our investment in Le BockAle Microbrewery. Founded in 2015 by Michael Jean, Bockale had been making non-alc beer since 2016, at a time where flavor-forward non-alc beer was absolutely non-extistent.Recent data shared by the IWSR Drinks Market Analysis indicates that 78% of consumers of non-alcoholic beverages also consume alcoholic beverages. This is an increasingly democratized market with high growth potential. According to the IWSR, the Non-alcoholic category is expected to show year-over-year growth exceeding 10% every year at least until 2026 in Canada and the USA. 70% of this growth will come from non-alcoholic beer. On the other hand, non-alcoholic ready-to-drink is forecasted be the fastest growing segment. This new agreement will help propel the brands to new heights and I cannot put in words how excited we are to have Marcelo Michaelis', Doug Port's and Marc-Olivier Bourgeois' team selling and distributing our brands.Inspire today, redefine tomorrow.https://lnkd.in/ecSAZ4rP#nonalc #beer #RTD #co*cktail #foodandbeverage #abinbev #labatt #retail #bar #ipa #lager #craftbeer #business #distribution

An interesting article in The Wall Street Journal (link in comments) looks at how one of the hottest beers in America - Athletic Brewing Co. - doesn't have alcohol. Athletic is now one the best selling non-alcoholic brand in US grocery stores, outpacing offerings from big rivals like Heineken and Budweiser. At Whole Foods, Athletic sells more than any beer, including ones with alcohol. Much of this success is down to founder Bill Shufelt's focus on producing a product that tastes great and is backed by strong marketing: both things that have helped reduce the stigma associated with no-alcohol beers. This is part of a wider trend of the rise of low/no alcohol options. A growing craft industry is focused on high quality, experientially-rich products that can be sold at premium price points. The aim is to deliver products that offer the taste and occasion that consumers might associate with high quality alcoholic products, but without the alcohol content. It's not just beer. Even spirits are being disrupted, as innovations create credible premium alternatives to traditional spirits. The chart below shows the rise of the no-alcohol spirits market.#alcohol #spirits #beverages #consumertrends #TopRetailExperts

🍺 Last year, breweries in the Czech Republic produced approximately 20 million hectoliters of beer, marking a decrease of 2.7 percent compared to the previous year, as reported by the Czech Beer and Malt Association. The average per capita consumption experienced a decline, reaching its lowest point in history. Comparing figures to 2022, consumption dropped from 136 to 128 liters per capita annually. The association attributes this downturn to prolonged economic uncertainty and increased prices.
