How big is Nyheim DayZ? ›

Nyheim is a 8x8 km sized environment for DayZ set in the post-apocalyptic 2070s. The terrain is fictitious. The terrain was the result of almost 4 years of development in my free time. It included 3D modeling several custom assets, and texturing existing assets to fit the setting of the terrain.

The biggest DayZ map is Chernarus. It is an open-world map set in a post-Soviet country and was originally created for the mod of the same name for the game ARMA 2. When the standalone version of DayZ was developed, it continued to use an expanded and modified version of the Chernarus map.

Conversation. Chernarus map size is 236 km² with sea, land have 181 km² and sea 55 km². Livonia have 163 km², and is about 10% smaller than land of Chernarus. And this size of difference you can imagine as square with size 4,2 x 4,2 km - (18 km²).

DayZ is introducing a new map called Sakhal later this year as part of the Frostline expansion. It's the smallest yet, about half the size of Chernarus, and is set in the far east of Russia. It's made up of snowy volcanic mountains and gets colder the further inland you go.

Aur ax is by far the best gun on the game... An FAL with Iron sights paired with a Blaze or Tundra! Non of the firearms, the bow that was possible to craft by yourself in the earlier versions of Dayz, miss searching for fearhers and rocks to craft arrows. Perfect to kill zeds in silence.

Possibly one of the most isolated towns in all of Chernarus, Belaya Polyana or "White Meadow" is in the extreme northeast corner and is almost entirely surrounded by high, jagged, rocky mountains. The town was added in the Stable release of DayZ 0.50.

There is no party size limit. Parties are managed by the player. Open the menu (default key: 'P'), and Add players to your party. If they have also added you, then your nametags will automatically appear.

How big is the DayZ map in 2024? ›

The expansion, called DayZ Frostline, is due to be released in the fall of 2024 on all platforms – Windows PC on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The new map has a size of 83 km² and shows the fictional Sakhalin archipelago covered with snow and tundra (yes, this is a hint of the Russian-occupied Japanese Sakhalin).

The game places the player in the fictional post-Soviet Republic of Chernarus (Based on the real life region of Ústí nad Labem in the Czech Republic), the original setting of Arma 2, where a mysterious plague has turned most of the population into violent "infected".

For the country of the same name, see Chernarus. The Chernarus terrain, more appropriately South Zagoria, is a playable terrain in ArmA 2.
